Over the last several weeks, months, and in some cases, years, I have informed you on how to lose weight, get in shape, live a healthier life, have better posture, and the list goes on and on.
What I don’t think I have been good about is telling you what I BELIEVE in terms of health and fitness.
Why is this important?
Why does it matter what I believe when it comes to health and fitness?
It matters because you put your trust in me to tell you the truth and cut through all the fluff.
You put your trust in me to be honest and forthright when it comes to what works, what doesn’t and what is an outright lie where the person telling it should be taken out back and whipped for trying to steal your hard earned money and trust.
Extreme? Maybe, but it’s part of what I believe.
I believe that true health and fitness doesn’t just come from doing a workout or cutting out processed carbohydrates and adding more fruits and vegetables. It doesn’t just come from sweat pouring down your face causing sweat stains in your armpits. It doesn’t just come from knowing how to workout, what programs to follow, what programs are absolute trash and that most diet books found in book stores and on the internet are absolute garbage.
Those are all important things, but I believe in something far more important than that.
I believe that true health and fitness starts on the inside.
I believe that if you don’t believe in yourself and if you don’t have a burning desire to succeed and continue improving that you will go stale and rot from the inside out.
What does that mean?
It means that I care far more about you being healthy than whether you lose 50 pounds.
Yes, those two are connected…if you need to lose 50 pounds you should be healthier when you do.
However there are far too many people who go at it the unhealthy and destructive way.
I’ve heard too many stories from people going on crash diets, yo-yo diets, starvation diets and even recovering bulemics and anorexics.
Does losing 50 pounds in that way make you healthier? Absolutely not. In fact you’ll be far worse off health-wise if you try to lose the weight one of those ways.
They destroy your immune system, trash your muscle mass and kill your digestive system, amongst other things.
My mom struggled with weight loss for years and I believe that played a strong part in her dying far too young.
She had zero immune system between her struggle with cancer and her struggle with weight loss.
It’s something I still struggle with to this day and is one of the major reasons I chose this profession.
I don’t want you to go through what my mom, my family or I had to go through. Trust me when I tell you it is a living hell.
Now, could things like my mom’s cancer have been avoided?
Maybe, maybe not.
I think it’s a slap in the face to say that she could’ve lived longer and healthier and not been diagnosed with cancer had she not gone through her yo-yo dieting and eating grapefruit for breakfast (that was just one of the silly things she did because she put her trust in a so-called “expert”).
My point is that what I believe and what I try to do for you is about far more than just looking good naked.
I care about your well-being far too much to just give you some quick fix.
I know that if you follow my advice you’ll be happier, and healthier both inside and out.
I’m not trying to put you down if all you care about is losing weight and looking better naked.
That is something that is worth striving for. I know that I personally strive to look the best I can.
I simply wanted to let you know what I believe.
I think that what I believe is very important in terms of whether you succeed or fail.
What I believe will help you succeed because what I believe is what I teach.
What I believe is what I coach.
I believe in you.
I believe in the power of the human spirit.
I believe that you can achieve whatever it is you set your mind to.
Have a great day!

P.S. – Please let me know what you believe. I really care about what you believe and what matters to you.
