“Spend A Minute With The Fit Dad” – Plank Variations Video

fitdadTVIt should come as no surprise by now how much I hate love Planks.

I think they are one of the best core/abs exercises – a heck of a lot better than crunches by the way – because they not only work every part of your stomach, but they also work your shoulders, upper back, chest and low back.

Working a lot of muscle at once is one of the most important things you can remember when trying to get your workouts done in a short period of time – like 10 minutes.

Plus you can do them anywhere, virtually any time, so that takes that excuse and chucks it out the window.

Even though my love for Planks goes far and wide (making people do them, not personally doing them…I hate doing the damn things), I’ll be the first to admit that they can be kind of boring.

That’s why today’s edition of “Spend A Minute With The Fit Dad” focuses on a few of my favorite Plank variations.

I show you 3 different Plank variations that you’ve probably never seen, heard of or done before.

Have a great day!

P.S. – I should have told you this last week, but I’m doing some of my videos a little differently.  I’m doing them more of a “TV Show” style.  I don’t want to call it a TV show because it’s not.  But it’s going to be fun.  I’ll do more talking directly to you, and addressing your questions, wants and needs when it comes to quick workouts, and nutrition.  They’re going to be very short – Hence the name “Spend A Minute With The Fit Dad” – and will be loaded with valuable information.

Good times…always good times!

I’ll have to give these plank variations a try. I like Planks and these look like they’ll be a good addition.

    Thanks Ed!

I love the videos! I have tummy flab will the planks help me get rid of it as well as strengthen my abs or do I need to do something else first for the tummy flab? Thanks.

Thanks for watching and for the compliment April!

You should always do Planks – they not only help strengthen the abs, but also the low back, shoulders, hips and glutes (butt). They make a great addition to any workout program – no matter if you want to lose tummy flab or just get in better shape.
