Lose Weight For 2009 Starting In 2008
Do you know what important date is coming up?
Is it my birthday?
Yes, but that’s not what I’m talking about…although if you’d like to get me a gift please feel free.
Actually my birthday, my wife’s birthday, and my daughter’s birthday are all within a week of each other. I’m turning 30, my daughter’s turning 2 and if I told you my wife’s age she just might kill me…isn’t that how you ladies react to people talking about age or am I just being a sexist man?
Before I get off on a tangent and make every single woman reading this want to reach through the computer and strangle me maybe I should get to the point.
There is a very important date for all you folks looking to lose weight coming up pretty soon.
Actually it’s only around 8 weeks away.
What is that magical date?
New Year’s Day of course.
Yes, I know it seems fast, but it’s coming around again in around 8 weeks and you know what that means.
Millions upon millions of people are going to set weight loss resolutions.
They’re going to wake up and say “This year is going to be different. I’m going to lose weight”
They’ll run off and join a health club…but never go.
On a side note did you know that January is the biggest month of the year for health clubs?
They get most of their enrollments in January and then have you locked in for the remainder of the year by signing a contract where they steal cash from your checking account whether you use their facility or not.
They really don’t care if you accomplish your goals or not, they just want you moolah.
I don’t want you to be one of them.
As a matter of fact I don’t even want you to set a New Year’s resolution having to do with weight loss this year.
I don’t want you to wait that long.
I want you to start today.
I want you to start right NOW.
Why wait until January 1 to set a weight loss goal?
What’s so special about that day that you have to wait another 8 weeks before you act?
It’s just another day.
You know what comes before New Year’s?
Lots and lots of holidays, holiday parties, family gatherings, work parties, football games, and pretty much any and every excuse people can come up with to eat and drink like there’s no tomorrow.
Don’t do it.
Don’t be one of those people who gains 10 pounds between now and New Year’s only to feel like a big fat toad on January 1.
Start by setting some attainable goals.
Start by cutting out your junk food and adding more fruits and vegetables.
Start by replacing your daily run to Starbucks with some brewed green tea.
Start by canceling your worthless health club membership and doing your workouts from home.
Start by cutting out the booze on the weekends…or every day…and that includes wine. I don’t care if “they” say it’s good for you because it will make you gain weight.
Start by doing one of the 40 workouts I have on YouTube of by any number of the workouts I’ve given you over the weeks and months in these newsletters.
Just don’t put off till January 1 what can be started RIGHT NOW.
You’ll be so much happier having made it through the holiday season without putting on more weight the struggle will be so worth it.
Plus you can be the only person who shows up at the New Year’s party who’s actually lost weight rather than gained it over the next 8 weeks.
Yes I know that’s a vain reason for wanting to lose weight, but it’s true. Deep down inside (or maybe not so deep down) everybody wants to lose weight to look better so we might as well admit it.
So don’t wait…start right now.
Have a great day!
