Hey Matt!

Thanks for adding to the conversation with what works for you. It's awesome that you know that about yourself and are able to stick with it. One of the problems is that people don't take the time to discover anything about their personalities and that's why so many yo-yo diet and get stuck in ruts.

Keep up the awesome work!

Ed,

I think this comes down to personality type. Most people fall either into the all or nothing type or as yourself have suggested the just a little type. I myself am an all or nothing type, its part of my addictive personality. I find it very hard to only have a small bit of something (such a only one cookie out of the jar).

For this reason I tend to avoid cheating as much as possible (especially during the week) and plan in a treat such as some apple pie for the weekend. This way my family all tuck in and theres none left for me to have seconds.

Your last sentence says it all..."it's all about self control." The problem is most people don't have much of it when it comes to cheating.

Where people like you and me may be able to cheat on a daily basis - we know where to stop without it hindering our fitness levels and physiques. I can tell you, though with absolute certainty that we are the minority.

Thanks Alex and have a great day!

i don't think that cheating is a big deal as long as it does not happen often. it is all about self control.
