Fat Fighting Foods Day 1

Something new I’m going to do in 2009 is begin showing you some of the healthiest and best fat fighting foods in the world.

Foods, individually, don’t have much of an impact…kind of like just doing a push-up won’t help you burn fat.

however, when you take these foods and combine them, routinely, day-by-day and week-by-week, you will notice weight loss, muscle building and toning, and better health overall.

Adding the proper foods works the same way that combining the right exercises, in the proper order, and doing them day after day, week after week, will help you burn fat and become healthier.

So to kick things off for the New Year, I’m going to offer you one of my favorite vegetables, the green bean.

Green beans, otherwise known as string beans, are a powerhouse of vitamins and minerals, they’re low in calories and are very easy to prepare, plus they’re available year round.

They’re high in Vitamins K, C, A, plus some of the B’s, as well as a good source of fiber and even some omega 3 fatty acids.

They’re also low in calories (just 43 per cup) and high in phytonutrients (little powerhouse antioxidants that are still being studies and understood).

They’re great for the bones, which means that every woman alive should eat them regularly.

They’re also great for the heart, colon and are a good anti-inflammatory food.

When it comes to eating green beans, the sky is the limit.

You can eat them raw (after washing of course), or you can steam them, sauté them (not highly recommended), add them to salads, casseroles, stir-fry’s, etc.

I try to eat green beans at least twice a week, plus whenever we go out to dinner, I am sure to have them as a side dish, if they’re offered.

I recommend you do the same.
