This is from last night. We were at one of those germ infested playgrounds at the mall and Maren decided she wanted to cruise with the dalmation. I think she was checking out the boy next to her the whole time, though.
God I dread the teenage years.

Maren’s birthday is Saturday..she’ll be 2.
I don’t know where those 2 years have gone, but to say they flew by is an understatement.
She’s talking like crazy. She’s almost completely potty trained. She runs around and tries to do workouts with me and Andrea.
It’s just not right that she can grow up this fast.
Then part of me wishes we could just bypass this whole Terrible Twos thing because those suck!
Oh well, just part of the whole growing up thang I guess.

I didn’t upload pictures of my cute little munchkin from Halloween so here it is.
If you can’t tell she was a kitty and let me tell you, she was the cutest damned kitty you ever saw.
I don’t care what your kid was dressed as, mine was cuter. She said “Meeeeow” and “trick or treat”, although she didn’t get to do too much of that.
We had a great time dressing her up and getting to see my little niece who was dressed as a sock monkey. She came close to being as cute as Maren, but my kitty was still the cutest kid around.

It’s getting to be that time of year here in Nebraska where it gets colder than a witch’s you know what.
I’m not a big fan of cold. I like to be toasty warm.
I like to be able to go outside and play if I’d like and so does Maren.
But she’ll be damned if she’s going to let a little cold weather get in her way.
We headed to our local park yesterday because she wanted to go swinging.
She loved it even though her little nose and her tiny little hands were bright red and frozen.
She refused to wear gloves and didn’t want her hat on. We’re just lucky she didn’t want to strip her clothes off as she’s now prone to doing at home.
Hopefully she grows out of THAT phase before she begins school!
Any ideas on how to get this little munchkin to wear gloves other than super gluing them to her wrists?

Today is election day…thank the good lord almighty!
But that doesn’t mean we’re done with all the political crap.
You’re still going to hear about whose plan is better, why one person is screwing up the country, if not the world, how one party is full of [insert expletive] idiots, etc.
The one thing we’re also going to hear with more frequency is the health care debate.
Whose plan is better?
Some want to move to a socialized medicine type of society (which doesn’t work very well…sorry, it just doesn’t) and others want to keep it the way it is.
Neither are the best options, but regardless of whose options are the best there is something striking that is being left out of all this.

I know I’ve missed a couple Gratuitous Thursdays and I apologize for that.
This picture is an oldie, but still makes this fitness nut proud!
It was Maren’s first plank and it was pretty good. A lot better than many of my clients the first time they try this plank variation.
She loves to watch her mommy and daddy do their workouts and has stated trying to copy some of the stuff we do.
I have a feeling I’m creating a workout warrior who will put me to shame by the time she’s 5!
Oh well. That just means she’ll be able to carry me around when I’m old and falling apart.

I can’t believe I missed yesterday’s Gratuitous Thursday post.

Here’s what I was going to post. This picture is from this summer while at a family function. Uncle Ry was teaching Maren some cool hip-hop moves and taught her to “lean back” ala Fat Joe.
She’s turning into quite the dancer,although God help me if she actually decides she wants to take it up. That stuff is flippin’ expensive!

Andrea took this picture during the first Husker football game.
This girl loves shoes and she doesn’t care how big, or who they belong to. If there are shoes on the floor, she will put them on and try to walk in them.
This is very scary to me because I’ve already for one lady in the house who loves shoes and I don’t need another!
I can’t forget mentioning Lenny, either. In case you don’t know, Lenny is the furry little creature on the right who seems to confuse his treat for a toy and wants us to constantly throw that disgusting thing.
He’s a source of entertainment for us and for Maren, as well as a nuisance whenever she has food in her hands. He seems to think that her food is his food since it’s at his mouth level. Because of this, Maren is now saying “Go Away!” to the dog…and to us.
Good times. Good times.
