Baby Pictures, Circuit Workouts and Smoothie Recipes!
Well, our first couple of days with Nolan has been pretty awesome. Nolan is pretty awesome and the amount of emails, texts and phone calls we’ve received from folks congratulating us and telling us how cute he is are greatly appreciated.

I know yesterday’s email was a long one, but I had a LOT of stuff to get out because the launch of Fit Parent Force Monthly is full of good stuff.

There are 2 circuits devoted to your abs.
There’s are circuit workouts devoted to your Arms.

And there are 2 circuits I call Metabolic, which basically means they’re a type of fat burning cardio-esque workout.
I call it The Puzzle because you create your own workouts by taking 2 of those circuits and putting them together to form an awesome workout that takes under 20 minutes to complete.
If you want to spend extra time on your Abs, you can take both of those circuits, put them together and create a killer full-body abs workout!
If you want to focus on your Arms and Fat Burning, you can take one of the Fat Burning Metabolic circuits along with the Arms circuit, put them together and blast the calories while strengthening and defining your arms as well.
Here’s a little example of what it would look like. For this post, I created the following Circuit Workouts – an Abs Circuit and Fat Burning Circuit…put ’em together for a fat-blasting weight loss workout!
7-Minute Abs Circuit:
1A) DB Swing – 15 reps
1B) Plank Extension – 10 reps per arm
1C) Overhead Squat – 12 reps
1D) Push-up w/Shoulder Touch – 12 reps
Not a single crunch in that Abs workout!
7-Minute Fat Burning Circuit:
1A) Burpee – 8 reps
1B) Lunge Pulse – 15 reps per leg
1C) Jump Split Squat – 6 reps per leg
1D) Mountain Climber – 12 reps per leg
Put those two circuits together by doing the Abs Circuit for 7 minutes, take a quick break and then hop in to the Fat Burning Circuit and you’re done! Approximately 20 minutes and your abs will be blasted and you will burn so many calories it ain’t even funny!
That’s just one example of what you can do!

Another cool thing I’m throwing in with each issue are recipes. This month I give you healthy dessert recipes. Last month I gave some smoothie and dinner recipes (including an awesome Chicken Pot Pie!). It’s another huge chunk of value!
Here are a few smoothie recipes for you to show you a sample of what you receive.
Smoothie Recipe #1:
1/2 Serving Raspberries
1/2 Serving Blueberries
1 Serving All Natural Vanilla Yogurt
1 Scoop Vanilla Whey Protein Powder
1 serving ground Flax Seeds
Throw it all in a blender and mix until smooth. You can add water and/or ice to give it your desired consistency. I like mine smooth, but Andrea likes hers a bit thicker – it doesn’t matter which you do.
Smoothie Recipe #2:
1 Cup Oatmeal
10 Sliced Strawberries
Throw it all in a blender and blend until smooth! You can play around with the amount of berries and oatmeal to get your desired taste. Also make sure you use REAL oatmeal. Not that crap that comes in individual packets that’s either loaded with sugar and/or near-rotten fruit with loads of sugar added to it to make it taste like good fruit. Plain oatmeal…
1 1/3 Cup Oatmeal
½ Banana Sliced
1 Cup Cranberries
Another oatmeal based smoothie there. I love putting oatmeal in my smoothie, but it can be an acquired taste to some folks. I urge you to give it a try because it can give you some extra fiber and slow-digesting carbs which will make you feel fuller longer. Also don’t freak out about the banana. Somewhere along the line it became in vogue to poo-poo fruit, especially bananas, but don’t fear ’em…eat ’em and enjoy ’em.
Okay, this one is turning out a bit longer than I hoped, so I’ll end with another call for you to get started in the Fit Parent Force.
