10 Minute Bodyweight Workout and 4 Minute Abs Workout (Videos)

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

I just read an interesting, yet silly poll.

It said people would rather live near a McDonald’s than a Starbucks.

I don’t know whose idea it was to ask such a ridiculous question, but it’s kind of scary.

There must not have been a “C” choice where you could have said “None of the above.”  Or maybe there was and nobody chose it.

Personally I wouldn’t want the smell of either place in my neighborhood.  Coffee kinda weirds me out (I know that’s sacrilegious for many) and McDonald’s just smells…eww.

Anyway, I thought I’d give you a couple more fat loss workout videos to try.

Below you’ll find a 10 minute workout and an abs workout.

The 10 minute workout uses only your bodyweight and you’ll only need 1 heavy dumbbell for the abs workout.

Here’s the 10 minute workout:

Here’s the 4 minute abs workout:

Give them a try today and let me know what you think.

Have a great day!

Ed

P.S. – I’m undertaking a HUGE project this week.  I’m filming every workout included in my Fat Loss To Go program and will make it available as a bonus.  That’s over 150 workouts!

Don’t forget that if you download Fat Loss To Go, you get free updates for life.  So any time I add a new bonus, you’ll get a copy for free.  Kinda cool, huh?

So grab your copy today by heading to…

Fat Burning Foods Day 7

Friday, February 20th, 2009

All right, today is day 7 of the fat burning foods.   I can’t believe this is the 8th week of 2009 already.

Yikes!

Although I’m very excited about getting rid of this damned weather.  Every year I learn to hate winter more and more.

Anyway, over the past 7 weeks we’ve gone over a lot of good fat burning foods and just like I said on day one…these foods individually don’t have much of an impact, but when you take these fat burning foods and combine them, routinely, day-by-day and week-by-week, you will notice weight loss, muscle building and toning and better health.

The fat burning foods we’ve gone over are green beans, raspberries, black beans, broccoli, pineapple, and peanuts.  Those are all really great foods, and I hope you’ve been adding them to your daily diet.

Today’s fat burning food is something a little different… Read More→

Fat Burning Breakfasts

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

I don’t know if it’s because my mom pounded it into my head while I was growing up, or just the fact that I know better, but I’m a huge breakfast guy.

I’m almost obsessive about getting a good, quality breakfast in every day…even when I have donuts (like last Sunday), I still have to get some sort of quality food in my belly.

The thing about my breakfasts is that I can’t do anything heavy. Read More→

I Love This Damn Picture Gratuitous Thursday

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

Andrea took this picture with my iPhone last week and I absolutely love it.

The quality of the picture sucks because it’s a phone, she took it herself and it’s damn near impossible to get Maren to stand in one place for longer than 1/50th of a second and the shutter speed of a camera phone isn’t too snappy.

But I love it because it’s my two favorite ladies and it’s just so frickin’ cute it’s not even funny.

I don’t know how Andrea got Maren to rest her hand on her shoulder and lean in like some cheesy wedding photographer, but she did.

10 Minute Workout and 4 Minute Abs Workout Videos

Monday, February 16th, 2009

What do you get when you cross a comic-book loving personal trainer, who knows a little bit about techie stuff, with a new software program that lets him turn his videos into comic books?

Me last week while I was editing some new videos.  Not a very good joke (OK it’s a very bad joke), but I did tweak some of the videos I made last week to make them look like comic books.

I might be the only one who thinks it’s cool – and I think it’s very cool – but why don’t you watch a couple of them and let me know what you think.

Check out this 10 minute workout video:

Check out this 4 minute abs workout video:

You can do these 2 workouts together (do the 10 minute one first) and get a killer fat loss workout done – that puts a ton of emphasis on the abs – in under 15 minutes.  How cool is that?

One of the exercises in the 4-minute abs workout is a little bit more advanced, but I want you to give it a try if you feel you’re up for it.  It’s a really good full body abs exercise and you just might surprise yourself.  But if you don’t think you can do it, substitute it with Burpees.

Have a great day!

Ed

P.S. – Make sure you watch those videos and let me know what you think about the new style.

P.P.S. – These workouts were taken directly from my Fat Loss To Go program and I’m in the process of taking every single workout (including the free add-on workouts) and filming them all.  I’m getting more and more requests for follow-along fat loss workout videos and I’m accommodating that request.  So be on the lookout for that option in the next month or two.

But don’t forget that when you buy my Fat Loss To Go program, you get free updates for life…so when I do decide to add these videos, you’ll get access to them for free no matter if you downloaded today or 3 months ago!

I’ve Been A Very Bad Boy

Monday, February 16th, 2009

OK, so I have been a very bad boy lately.

A couple weeks ago my good bloggy friend Petra over at The Wise Young Mommy gave me a pretty cool award and I didn’t follow the rules.

I’m not good at accepting things like that because I just do this blog because I enjoy sharing information on weight loss, fitness and health with everybody.  Plus I like to debunk some of those crappy weight loss myths that are out there.  I don’t do it to get an award, but I’m not going to lie and tell you it’s not cool.

Evidently, the award means:
“This award shows the values that every blogger shows in his or her effort to transmit cultural, literal, ethical and personal values every day.”

Thems some big dang words there, huh?

But here’s the award.

Now that I’ve posted about it, I’ve got to pass it along…

I’m only going to give it to a couple of well-deserving blogs.

One being Eric over at Oh My God I’m A Daddy.  He’s a soon-to-be-dad and he’s totally pumped for it, which is very cool.  Becoming a dad for the first time was the coolest thing in the world for me and he’s going to love it as well.

The other is The Hussy over at My Suburban Can Run Over Your Minivan.  She has graciously allowed me to be the official personal trainer at her blog “The Muffin Top Killers” and she runs a fantastic blog as well.

The rules are:

1) Accept the award and post it on your blog along with the name of the person who gave you the award.

2) Pass it on to (15) bloggers that you know who deserve it.  I only did 2 because I didn’t feel like doing the extra work.  I’m a lazy personal trainer.

Fat Burning Foods, Day 6

Friday, February 13th, 2009

Is it bad timing that this week’s fat burning food is peanuts?

Well, in my defense that whole salmonella scare has to do with peanut butter and the whack job places that process the peanuts.  Speaking of which, how the hell do they get away with not being inspected or regulated for 5 years?

Anyway, as I mentioned, this week’s fat burning food is peanuts. Read More→

How To Do A Plank and Plank Variations

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

[fb-like]

One of my favorite exercises is the Plank.

Well, let me clarify.  One of my favorite exercises to make OTHER people do is the Plank.  Personally, I don’t like them because they’re hard.  But I do them anyway because they’re just too good of an exercise to leave out of a good program…no matter what the goal is.

But the big thing about Planks is that you have to do them correctly.

DUH!!!  I know that’s a stupid statement, but I can probably count on one hand the number of new clients I’ve trained who have done Planks properly right out of the gate.

And to be totally honest, they’re an exercise that are pretty easy to cheat at – if you’re not paying attention.

So I created a video on how to properly do a plank and you can check it out below:

Another important thing to consider when doing Planks is that as you get better, you need to make them harder and to do that you need to try a different Plank variation.

If you’re a total beginner, you might have to start off from your knees, and work yourself up to your toes – and that’s totally fine.

However, anytime you can hold a Plank position for around 45 seconds, you should try out a different variation.

To combat that, I also created a video with a few different Plank variations from beginner to advanced and you can also check that video out below:

If you have any questions about Planks, or anything else regarding workouts or nutrition, don’t hesitate to ask or leave a comment and I’ll get back to you ASAP.

Have a great day!

Ed

P.S. – I believe that Planks are one of the very best abs exercises around.  They work so much muscle and really strengthen your core – which is weak on the overwhelming majority of people – that they MUST  be done.  I include lots of different Plank variations, as well as many other full body abs exercises and core exercises in my Fat Loss To Go program.  To get started today, head to
