3 Best Abs Foods To Help You Lose Stomach Fat
I recently took a vacation down to Mexico.
It was a much needed trip away for my wife and I. I was super stressed out, and we just needed a chance to get away and re-charge, plus it was kind of nice to leave Maren at home while mommy and daddy went to the ocean and played on the beach.
Anyway, when we were down there I noticed something.
The food was amazing, especially the fruit. It was some of the best fruit I’ve ever had and there were varieties of fruit I’ve never tried and they were awesome!
What I noticed was that not many people were eating this wonderful fruit. Far too many people were eating fried foods and loading up on desert. I know it was a vacation and many people relax their eating habits a little, but by the looks of these folks, they were relaxing their eating habits all the time and not just on vacation.
Which brings me to the point of this newsletter. There are certain kinds of foods which are perfect for losing fat, especially stomach fat.
And there are some foods that are perfect for adding stomach fat, but that’s another topic for another day.
So here are my top 3 abs foods, in no particular order.
#1 – Almonds – I’m sure you’ve read or heard how wonderful almonds are for you, but I’m going to re-iterate how wonderful they are and how you should be eating them every stinking day. There shouldn’t be a day that goes by that you don’t get a serving of almonds in.
Almonds are not only loaded with protein and fiber, but they’re also goods sources of “healthy fats”.
Because they’re a great source of sustained energy, they make a great mid-afternoon snack. I don’t know about you, but come mid-afternoon my cravings can get the best of me and I get a little tired. Luckily, I keep a big dish of almonds by my desk that I snack on and they give me an energy boost that lasts the rest of the day and I don’t have to worry about screwing up my fat loss diet because I gave in to temptation and had a bagel or some sort of candy bar from the vending machines.
#2 – Apples or Pears – I put these two together because they are very similar in their calorie content, and nutrient breakdown. They’ve both only got around 60-80 calories and have approximately 5 grams of fiber. Fiber is king when it comes to weight loss and when combined with a serving of almonds, you get about 1/3 of your daily need. That’s awesome, especially considering that they’re not full of calories.
Besides the fiber content and low calorie number, they’re also both loaded with vitamins and phytonutrients which help keep you healthy. The old saying about an apple a day keeping the doctor away is very true. In fact, I eat at least 2 apples a day, sometimes more.
I know you may have heard that you shouldn’t eat fruit if you’re trying to lose fat because of the sugar, but that’s a bunch of bull. Fruit will not make you fat! I don’t know who started that nasty rumor, but it’s stupid and should never be uttered again. You need fruit to live a healthy lifestyle, and being fat free is part of a healthy lifestyle.
#3 – Broccoli – I know that there aren’t many people who enjoy broccoli, but you just have to get over it and eat it. It’s far too good of a food to leave out of your eating plan just because of some stupid hang-up you have about vegetables.
Broccoli is loaded with fiber as well as a mountain of vitamins and minerals. There’s a more and more research coming out about broccoli and its cancer prevention abilities. That alone is worth eating a serving or two every few days.
Plus it’s good for your skin, stomach, helps detoxify your body, it strengthens your bones, and the list literally goes on and on.
There’s no argument here. You have to eat broccoli, and eat if often, if you want to lose stomach fat and get that lean, fat free body you’ve always wanted.
Those 3 (OK 4) foods can easily be added into your diet TODAY, so get to it. They can be taken anywhere, so you have no excuse about not being able to eat them because you’re too busy or driving in your car too much.
Pack some up and keep them with you at your desk, or eat an apple on your way home from work along with a handful of almonds.
Add a serving of steamed broccoli along with a bit of real melted butter with your supper every night. It tastes great and will help you lose fat.
I guarantee that if you start eating those 3 abs foods you will lose stomach fat, and lots of it, very quickly.
Have a great weekend!
